About The Position

Kokua is seeking substitute teachers in Dallas, TX for the 2025-26 school year. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by sparking a love for learning in students and helping to address the teacher shortage crisis. Substitute teachers will have a flexible schedule, the autonomy to choose assignments and locations, and the chance to add representation in the classroom. Kokua provides weekly paychecks, a quick hiring process, and opportunities for full-time positions at K-12 schools. The role involves leading classrooms, creating a safe and supportive learning environment, and assisting with various campus duties such as lunch/recess supervision, hall monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring.

Requirements

1+ year(s) working with students in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, camps, etc.).
Minimum of 48 college credit hours.
Confidence to manage a classroom of students.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Strong belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.
Ability to pass state & federal background checks.
