About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher for its classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition. This position involves teaching in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays for approximately 13 hours per week, on an as-needed basis for the 2026-2027 academic year. The substitute will be called when regular staff are unavailable, with the flexibility to decline assignments. RCA provides all necessary training, curriculum, and grading guidelines. Childcare/nursery is provided. The academy operates on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. All staff must complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training.

Requirements

• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all appropriate sacraments.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organization.
• Timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Must complete a background check.
• Must complete RCA Safe Child training.

Nice To Haves

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
• Ministry experience in a Catholic parish.
• Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
• Experience teaching one's own children.
• Experience teaching in a classical or private school.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a classical and Catholic classroom setting.
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines.
• Be available to substitute on an as-needed basis when regular staff are absent.
