About The Position

Kokua is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2025-26 school year in Cicero and the surrounding Chicago area. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by connecting students with classroom role models and empowering them to be their best. The position provides a flexible schedule, good working hours, and the chance to add representation to the classroom through unique experiences. Kokua has been connecting individuals to K-12 schools for over 13 years and operates in schools across the country, including Chicago.

Requirements

• 6 months experience working with students (tutoring, camps, volunteer and other experience counts!).
• Associate's Degree (or 60+ credit hours) or higher.
• Current residence in or willingness to commute to Chicago.
• IL Substitute Teaching License or Paraprofessional license.
• Confidence to manage a classroom of students.
• Ability to pass state & federal background check.
• Have reliable means of transportation.
• Not be on the CPS do not hire list.
