About The Position

Hawkeye Area Community Action Program, Inc. (HACAP) is a dynamic nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the lives of families and individuals in our communities across nine counties. We believe in the power of collaboration, working alongside for-profit businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and local community members to create stronger, healthier communities. The Substitute Teacher supports the classroom in the absence of assigned staff in maintaining a nurturing and supportive education program for participating children.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) months of experience working in a licensed early childhood or school-based pre-school setting
• Valid ID and reliable transportation for use on the job.
• Must receive clearance by the Iowa Department of Human Services on child abuse and criminal background checks prior to hire and every two (2) years after.
• Must pass a pre-employment health examination and subsequent health examinations every three (3) years thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage when regular staff are absent.
• Maintain required staff-to-child ratios.
