About The Position

Kokua Education is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2026-27 school year in Philadelphia, PA. This part-time role allows you to set your own schedule, earn up to $216 per day, and make a positive impact on students' lives. Kokua aims to place positive role models in classrooms who spark a love for learning. You will be paid via W-2, have the opportunity to work up to 5 days a week, and can be considered for permanent roles at K-12 schools. Support is available daily from 6 am to 8 pm. The role also offers the chance to add representation in classrooms and teach close to home in the Philadelphia area.

Requirements

Completed a Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 months working with students in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
Confident in managing a classroom of students
Willing to step in where needed (lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, testing proctoring)
Pass state & federal background checks
Able to commute to North Philly
