Part-time Substitute Teacher - Manor, TX
About The Position
Kokua Education is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2026-27 school year in the Manor and surrounding Austin area. This part-time role allows you to set your own schedule, earn up to $200 per day, and make a positive impact on students' lives. As a substitute teacher, you will be a positive role model, sparking a love for learning and helping students perceive what's possible. Kokua Education, founded in 2011 by a former teacher, connects talented educators with K-12 schools, building a diverse network of dedicated substitute teachers who play a pivotal role in their communities.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
- Completed 48+ college credit hours.
- Confidence in managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to step in where needed.
- Ability to pass state & federal background checks.
- Belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Desire to be a positive role model and spark a love for learning.
- Interest in long-term assignments.
Responsibilities
- Substitute teach in K-12 classrooms.
- Manage a classroom of students.
- Step in where needed, including lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season.
- Add representation in classrooms through unique experiences.
