About The Position

In 1837, the Ohio government established the Ohio Institution for the Education of the Blind, the predecessor of the Ohio State School for the Blind (OSSB). OSSB was the first public school for the blind in the United States. Today, more than 100 Ohio blind and visually impaired students receive their education each year at OSSB. The State of Ohio is a drug-free workplace which prohibits the use of marijuana (recreational marijuana/non-medical cannabis). This position may be subject to additional restrictions pursuant to the State of Ohio Drug-Free Workplace Policy (HR-39). Responsibilities

• Substitute for permanent teacher.
• Instructs, follows lesson plans, and assesses student knowledge on behalf of the permanent teacher.
• Maintains a well-structured educational environment.
• Monitors students when needed.
• Maintains professional licensure and development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
