About The Position

Eckerd Connects is hiring a Substitute Teacher at Denison Job Corps Center. The Substitute Instructor teaches in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction in the designated subject area. The role promotes a positive classroom atmosphere to support student motivation and maintains classroom discipline to support learning. The position also maintains student personnel folders and records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area. This is an on-call, part-time position of up to 29 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $26.00. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a nationwide criminal background check. The role is classified as safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug/alcohol testing consistent with state law and organizational policy. Job Corps is a nationwide residential career training program that helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete high school, train for careers, and obtain employment. The position is located at Denison Job Corps, 10 Opportunity Dr., Denison, IA 51442.

Requirements

Associate's degree or 60 semester hours and completion of an approved substitute authorization course.
Completed application to the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Successfully complete a nationwide criminal background check.
Complete pre-employment drug/alcohol testing consistent with state law and organizational policy.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
