About The Position

LifeWise substitute teachers demonstrate Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive, and proficient in teaching students. Substitute teachers complete training and teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis, following the provided curriculum, program policies, and student discipline policy. They also maintain classroom and attendance records and communicate with volunteers and the teacher.

Requirements

• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring and perceptive approach to working with students.
• Proficient teaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment in accordance with LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
