SUBSTITUTE: TEACHER & AIDES (Migrant Seasonal Head Start) Weiser
About The Position
This is a temporary position to supplement the workforce or assist in the completion of a specific project. Substitute teachers and aides are not eligible for any benefits, holiday pay, or paid time off. They cannot transition into another employee type unless selected through agency hiring procedures. The role involves assisting in preparing and maintaining records, providing children with opportunities to develop curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity, and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment. This may include attending to the hygienic needs of young children and establishing clear, age-appropriate rules. Staying current on educational practices is also expected. Duties may include serving as a bus monitor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass physical examination and background checks, including state day care clearance
- Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
- Must obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification

- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
Responsibilities
- Assist to prepare, maintain, and present records, documents, reports, reviews, and databases
- Help provide children with experiences and opportunities to develop curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity
- Help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment in a classroom environment
- May include taking care of the hygienic needs of infants, toddlers, and potentially preschoolers
- Help maintain clear, reasonable, consistent, and age-appropriate rules and expectations for children
- Stay current on new educational practices and procedures
- May perform duties of bus monitor if needed
