About The Position

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional substitute piano instructor to teach part-time at Pacific Piano School in San Jose, CA. The role involves instructing students in person and requires the ability to set availability within the school's open hours. Substitute teachers will be called upon when regular teachers are unavailable. There is a potential for advancement to a regular teaching position based on job performance and student demand. The ideal candidate will have a strong music background, a degree in piano performance (Bachelor's required, Master's preferred), pedagogy, performing experience, a love for teaching, experience with young musicians, punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check. MTAC membership and/or Certificate of Merit experience are preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in piano performance, pedagogy, or equivalent.
• Performing experience.
• Demonstrated love of teaching.
• Experience working with young musicians.
• Robust appreciation for punctuality.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a routine background check.
• Ability to teach additional instruments (such as voice or violin) is preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
