About The Position

Perform the duties of the job position in which subbing and as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor. This role requires flexibility, punctuality, and the ability to work with students, staff, and parents. The substitute paraprofessional will follow the schedule of the job they are subbing for, complete tasks left by staff, and record information for the returning employee. Adherence to the Substitute Handbook is expected.

  • Speak, write, read, and comprehend English – Communicate with students, staff and others in English
  • Punctuality and dependability
  • Flexibility in the job assignment
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Maintain emotional control under stress

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties of the job position.
  • Notify the school office of any serious problems.
  • Follow as closely as practical the schedule of the job.
  • Complete tasks left for you by staff and or professional in charge.
  • Record information for the returning employee.
  • Abide by the Substitute Handbook.
  • Complete the duties and tasks of the absent employee.
  • Report on time, report for any assigned duty, work through the end of stated sub hours.
