About The Position

Baldwin Park Unified School District is recruiting substitute instructional aides for Transitional Kindergarten through grade 12, primarily in Special Education and possibly in bilingual classrooms. Under general supervision, the aide assists, tutors, and educates students individually or in groups in a classroom or similar learning setting, follows a prescribed curriculum, supervises students, and performs clerical and paraprofessional work inside and outside the classroom. Assignments are made to a special education teacher or administrator, and may include assisting students in mainstream classes. The role supports students with physical and learning disabilities in areas such as cognitive, gross and fine motor, feeding, self-help, and behavior skills. The aide helps maintain student health and safety, assists with mobility, personal care, meals, transportation, and instructional activities, and supports teachers and specialists with student monitoring, records, materials, and behavior management. Duties vary by assignment and are representative rather than exhaustive. Applicants must apply through Edjoin and meet the education and examination requirements. Successful candidates must hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency. Substitute applicants are contacted for processing when the district has a hiring need; applications remain valid for one year from the original submission date. Final employment offers are contingent on Board approval and successful fingerprinting and clearance by Human Resources.
