About The Position
The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District is accepting applications for Substitute Teachers and Classified Substitutes. These are at-will positions that provide valuable support to schools on an as-needed basis. Substitute employees help ensure continuity of instruction and daily operations by filling in for regular staff when needed. Substitute employees work on an on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed a regular work schedule.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (for Non-Certified Substitute Teacher/Classified Substitutes).
- Must possess a current Alaska Initial, Professional, or Master Teacher Certificate (for Certified Substitute Teacher).
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management by remaining engaged and aware of students.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students.
Responsibilities
- Fill in for regular staff when needed to ensure continuity of instruction and daily operations.
- Provide valuable support to schools on an as-needed basis.
