About The Position
Newton Community School District is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver for the 2026-2027 School Year. This position offers approximately 3 hours of work per day for school day routes, with additional hours available year-round for activity trips and extracurricular activities. CDL training is provided. Hired applicants must successfully pass a DCI criminal history background check and pre-work physical requirements.
Requirements
- Valid and/or eligible to hold a CDL drivers license to operate a school bus as required by State Law with passenger "P" and airbrake endorsements.
- Good driving record.
- Must comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and obtain/sustain US DOT Medical Examiners Certificate.
- Must be able to pass both the DCI criminal history background check and the prework physical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for passengers safety, welfare, discipline, and protection.
- Report any problems or unusual occurrences to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Adhere to all federal, state, local, and school district regulations, including random drug/alcohol testing.
