About The Position

Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for Substitute Bus Drivers. This position involves operating a school bus, maintaining associated paperwork, performing inspections, monitoring students, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the bus. The role also includes attending training and performing other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.

Requirements

• Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate
• Must be currently certified as a Maryland School Bus Driver
• Meet all Motor Vehicle Administration and State Department of Education requirements for school vehicle drivers
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities

• Operate a Dorchester County School Bus
• Maintain regular paperwork associated with transporting students
• Perform Pre and Post trip inspections of buses
• Monitor student while bus is in transit
• Maintain cleanliness of bus
• Assist with transportation of bus to garage for service as needed
• Attend necessary training classes
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager
