Requirements

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in welding metal.
Possess all skills required for assignment from the foreman for welding.
In-depth knowledge of all applicable OSHA codes and standards, especially for welding.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be willing to stay out of town.
Available to travel as the project requires.
Willing to work over-time and be able to work extended periods of time.
Walking and working across uneven terrain.
Climbing on and off large trucks and equipment.
Must be able to work outside 100% of the time.
Must be able to work in inclement weather that includes heat, cold, rain and possible snow.
Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds on a daily basis.
Willing to work off the ground in man baskets.
Must be able to work around energized systems.
Must have current applicable aluminum welding certification or be able to successfully pass a weld test.

Nice To Haves

Aluminum experience is a plus.
Knowledge of electrical, below grade or concrete foundation trade a plus.
High Voltage Substation construction knowledge or experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Accurately take field measurements for string busswork and tube buss, make cuts, and weld connectors to busswork.
Weld aluminum connectors to aluminum busswork (1” to 6” sizes) and aluminum cable up to 2000 AAC.
Ensure quality of work is performed according to specifications.
Assist with other activities while not actively welding.
May work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems.
May attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training.
