About The Position

The Treatment Bureau operates as the state authority for the development, oversight, and delivery of appropriate mental health treatment programs for adults and substance use disorder treatment programs for adults and youth. The Substance Use Disorder Program Officer is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of substance use disorder programs. Responsibilities include performing duties related to contract procurement, state plans, waivers, Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM), and providing technical assistance. As well as identifying, developing, and implementing strategies within the contracts and assisting in the development and coordination of integrated programs and projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of substance use disorders and behavioral health treatment services.
  • Knowledge of service development and performance monitoring.
  • Excellent written or verbal communication skills including public speaking.
  • Interpersonal skills including negotiation and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interpret state and federal laws.
  • Ability to create training presentations and present training.
  • Ability to identify problems and research to develop and implement solutions.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, public health, or closely other related social or behavioral science degree.
  • Two years job-related experience in behavioral health services.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Addictions Counselor preferred.
  • Master Degree is preferred.
  • Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
