Substance Abuse Counselor - Evening IOP (Monday-Friday)

About The Position

The Ridge Ohio is hiring a full-time substance abuse treatment counselor for its outpatient services. The role supports clients experiencing substance use disorders through individual sessions, groups, assessments, treatment planning, education, and referrals. The counselor has independence in planning and developing group materials and topics. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, with evening hours on several days and some flexibility; it may change based on program needs. Compensation is competitive and based on experience.

Requirements

Master's degree in a clinical behavioral modality, such as chemical dependency, mental health, or social work.
Hold an Ohio CSWMFT and/or Ohio CDPB license in good standing: LICDC, LCDCIII, LPC, LPCC, MSW, or LISW.

Responsibilities

Facilitate individual sessions and processing and psychoeducation groups for clients experiencing substance use disorders.
Establish treatment goals and milestones with clients.
Prepare progress reports and letters for relevant parties.
Educate families and groups about substance abuse treatments and prevention programs.
Facilitate referrals to other healthcare or counseling professionals.
Maintain compliance in medical record keeping in the EMR.
Complete assessments for new program admissions.
Complete outpatient assessments.
Choose and develop group materials and topics and plan groups independently.
