Substance Abuse Counselor -Danville, VA (OTP)
About The Position
Crossroads Treatment Centers is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor in Danville, VA. Since 2005, Crossroads has been a leader in treating patients with opioid use disorder, providing accessible, high-quality, evidence-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to combat the opioid epidemic and support long-term recovery. This comprehensive approach is the gold standard in care for opioid use disorder, proven to prevent overdose deaths and lead to lasting recovery. Requirements
- General experience working with underserved populations in a clinical setting.
- No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program.
- Must have an active LPC, LCSW, LMFT or LSATP. or CSAC
- Counselors shall be licensed by the applicable Virginia health regulatory board or by a nationally recognized certification board or eligible for this license.
- Must have a valid driver's license.

- Lived addiction experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provides individual counseling to highly complex patients
- Conducts clinical assessments to appropriately assess patient’s treatment needs
- Designs and updates the patient’s treatment plan, including care coordination, referrals, and discharge planning
- Manages assigned caseload and compliance with clinical treatment requirements
- Collaborates with nurses and providers to provide holistic treatment services
- Facilitates urine drug screening for patients
