About The Position

The role of the SME will be to provide day-to-day Tactical Data Link (TDL) support to NIWC. The position requires an experienced communications expert to support the project. This position will work out of the Chesapeake, VA area. Work Model: Hybrid

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have a secret security clearance as a minimum at the time of employment.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Four (4) years of hands-on experience with the following Tactical Data Links systems: Link Monitoring and Management Tool LMMT, Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS), AN/USQ-125(V) Link-11 Data Terminal Set (DTS), Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS), Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS).
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Travel Required.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support services for emerging Fleet Technical Assist (FTA) requirements, which are urgent and routine.
• Perform system testing to evaluate performance and functionality.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
• Be willing to travel 25 - 45%.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide technical assistance during onsite visits to US Navy ships and shore sites.
