About The Position

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Subject Matter Expert to support our Arlington, VA location. The selected candidate will support a Department of Defense customer in the National Capital Region - providing technical expertise supporting secure enterprise information systems, infrastructure modernization, systems integration, and configuration management activities within a dynamic mission environment.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of experience supporting Department of Defense enterprise information technology environments.
  • Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure and secure computing environments.
  • Working knowledge of systems integration, configuration management, and enterprise architecture principles.
  • Experience implementing system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, storage systems, and enterprise networking concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, procedures, and system diagrams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI is required to perform this work.
  • Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense headquarters or enterprise IT environments.
  • Familiarity with secure classified and unclassified computing environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization technologies, enterprise storage solutions, and network administration.
  • Knowledge of systems configuration management and structured change control processes.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, RMF, DISA STIGs, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience supporting enterprise collaboration platforms, web-based applications, and secure communications technologies.
  • Industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP, Microsoft Certified, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or equivalent are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise supporting secure enterprise information systems and network environments.
  • Administer, maintain, and support enterprise information technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network resources.
  • Support system integration, modernization, and technology refresh initiatives across multiple computing environments.
  • Manage system configurations and maintain configuration baselines in accordance with established configuration management processes.
  • Coordinate implementation of approved system changes and document configuration updates.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, system procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support systems testing, validation, and operational readiness activities.
  • Monitor system performance, identify technical issues, and recommend solutions to improve system reliability and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with Government personnel and technical teams to gather system requirements and support implementation of new capabilities.
  • Develop technical reports, briefings, diagrams, and other documentation supporting engineering and operational activities.
  • Assist with cybersecurity compliance efforts, system patching, vulnerability remediation, and accreditation activities.
  • Support troubleshooting of hardware, software, network, and enterprise application issues.
