About The Position

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Subject Matter Expert to support our Huntsville, AL location. The selected candidate will provide support a Department of Defense customer in Huntsville, Alabama - providing operational planning, capability integration, and analytical support for defense modernization initiatives, military exercises, wargames, and operational assessments.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience supporting Department of Defense operations, military planning, capability development, or defense modernization programs.
  • Experience supporting operational planning, military exercises, simulations, or wargaming activities.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across multiple Government organizations and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex operational issues.
  • Experience preparing executive-level briefings, technical reports, and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI is required to perform this work.
  • Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense headquarters organizations, operational commands, or defense acquisition programs.
  • Familiarity with operational planning, capability development, requirements analysis, and mission integration processes.
  • Experience supporting military exercises, wargames, modeling and simulation, or operational assessments.
  • Knowledge of joint or multi-domain operations, capability integration, and defense modernization initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), planning conferences, and senior leader engagements.
  • Military operational experience, particularly in air and missile defense, fires, space operations, or joint operations, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise supporting operational planning, capability integration, and mission analysis for Department of Defense initiatives.
  • Support the planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of military exercises, simulations, experiments, and operational events.
  • Analyze operational concepts, emerging capabilities, and mission requirements to identify opportunities for improving operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with Government stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to integrate operational requirements into planning efforts.
  • Capture observations, lessons learned, and recommendations resulting from exercises, demonstrations, and operational assessments.
  • Develop executive-level briefings, reports, white papers, spreadsheets, and presentation materials supporting Government leadership.
  • Participate in planning conferences, working groups, technical exchanges, and after-action reviews.
  • Assist with the development and refinement of operational concepts, doctrine, procedures, and capability recommendations.
  • Support requirements development, capability assessments, and strategic planning activities.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple organizations to ensure effective planning, execution, and integration of mission objectives.
