About The Position

In this role, you will lead a team to manage subcontracts and monitor operations. You will develop the subcontracting strategy, operating procedures, staffing plan, and the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan. You will review and approve bid details, commitments, and negotiations. Your oversight will ensure project subcontracting is consistent and that requirements have been implemented.

Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Extensive experience in subcontract administration with a strong focus on change management, claims, and contract modifications on large, complex construction projects.
Demonstrated expertise in evaluating change orders, delay/disruption claims, and cost/schedule impacts and ability to lead teams for resolution. Ability to train and lead teams on subcontract change management topics.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contract terms and assess entitlement.
Proven ability to lead negotiations and resolve complex commercial issues in high-value, high-risk environments.
Advanced analytical skills to evaluate pricing, productivity impacts, and risk exposure.
Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of formal correspondence, change justifications, and negotiation documentation.
Strong working knowledge of engineering and construction scopes, sequencing, and execution methods to support accurate change evaluation.
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders in Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, and Legal.
Experience with change management systems and reporting tools (e.g., Digital Supply Chain Systems, Unifier, cost systems, or similar platforms).
High level of initiative, professional judgment, and ability to operate in fast-paced, dynamic project environments.
Fulltime onsite availability.

Responsibilities

Participates with the project team in assigned tasks involved with defining and developing the scope of Contracts work, and in preparing and coordinating Contracts plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets
Reviews commitment recommendations in accordance with Procurement and Contracts policies and procedures, approving those within delegated authority
Develops and implements the subcontracting strategy for assigned project or office, incl. development and translation of the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule into a specific working contracting plan
Reviews bid tabulations for accuracy, bidder recommendation, completeness, and approves selection of bidders within delegated approval authority
Ensures all commitments made by subordinate personnel are accurately presented and follow established approval and signing authorities contained in company policies and procedures
Reviews and recommends bid selections that require higher approval authority
Executes commitments within delegated signing authority
Reviews prime contract between customer and Bechtel and makes recommendations to Subcontracts Manager to ensure appropriate provisions are reflected in the commercial terms and conditions, and pricing conditions of the master contract forms
Provides guidance in the development, monitoring, and maintenance of project master subcontracts forms, including legal and commercial terms and conditions to be included in the project subcontract documents
Reviews and approves proposed negotiating plans developed by subordinate personnel in the commitment and resolution of commercial conditions of contracts, and participates in direct negotiations when required
