About The Position

The Subaru Technician diagnoses, maintains, and repairs Subaru vehicles, including engine and transmission repairs and electrical-system troubleshooting. The technician follows manufacturer specifications and safety standards, determines requested work from repair orders, performs repairs, road-tests vehicles for quality, and keeps current with manufacturer training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with one Saturday per month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Compensation is $25 to $30 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• ASE certification or equivalent.
• Technician experience with a major automotive manufacturer.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Organization, good judgment, and ability to work unsupervised.
• Provide own tools and toolbox.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Determine the work requested on repair orders.
• Diagnose and perform repairs to engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and related systems.
• Road-test vehicles to quality-check repairs.
• Attend shop meetings and keep up to date with manufacturer training.
