About The Position

The Subaru Automotive Technician diagnoses, maintains, and repairs Subaru vehicles, including engine, transmission, and electrical system work. The technician performs repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards and road-tests vehicles to verify quality. The role includes attending shop meetings and keeping current with manufacturer training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with one Saturday per month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pay ranges from $25 to $30 per hour based on experience.

Requirements

• ASE certification or equivalent.
• Technician experience with a major automotive manufacturer.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Organization and ability to work unsupervised using good judgment.
• Provide own tools and toolbox.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Determine the work requested on repair orders.
• Diagnose and perform repairs involving engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and related systems.
• Road-test vehicles to quality-check repairs.
• Attend shop meetings and keep abreast of manufacturer training.
