About The Position

COLSA Corporation is hiring for a UAS Specialist to join our Uncrewed Systems Department where you will participate in the integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).

Requirements

Integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS)
Assembly of mechanical and electrical drones
Integration and test
Buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
Use of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
Documentation of processes and build techniques
Technical support to stakeholders
Troubleshooting issues
Testing, data collection and analysis
Report preparation for leadership
Assisting operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
Field testing and/or project meetings
Piloting drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage

Responsibilities

Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones
Makes recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.
Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
Documents processes and build techniques
Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues
Participates in testing, data collection and analysis
Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement
May assist operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
Travel for field testing and/or project meetings
May pilot drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage
