About The Position

This position is for a Stylist in Training, also known as an Apprentice Stylist. The company offers the know-how to help individuals become future stylists. In this role, you will learn the business while delivering exceptional customer service across all communication channels. You will observe stylists and managers to learn how to grow the business and control expenses. Responsibilities include greeting customers, scheduling appointments, answering the phone, and maintaining salon cleanliness and safety standards. Eligibility for promotion to a Stylist position is possible upon receiving your license, but it is not guaranteed and must be earned. To be considered for promotion, you must possess a valid license, be able to perform required services (cutting, styling, coloring, waxing, washing, perming hair), and demonstrate the company's values of honesty, accountability, integrity, and respect.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited cosmetology school.
  • Obtain necessary license(s) to perform salon services within or before 6 months of hire date.
  • Possess a valid appropriate license in the applicable state of employment (for promotion consideration).
  • Ability to perform duties allowed by state license requirements (for promotion consideration).
  • Demonstrate Panimor's values of honesty, accountability, integrity, and respect (for promotion consideration).
  • Great judgment and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced salon environment.
  • Good communication skills with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Tech savvy to use point-of-sale systems and enter data.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Strong desire to learn and improve skills.
  • Comfortable with lifting up to 10 lbs. to stock retail shelves.
  • Occasionally lifting 10-25 lbs. to assist in unloading monthly shipment of products.
  • Ability to be on your feet for most of the day.
  • Ability to read, write, and do basic math.
  • Available to travel to mandatory meetings and training sessions, possibly including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the business by observing other stylists and managers.
  • Greet customers, schedule appointments, and answer the phone.
  • Maintain salon cleanliness and follow safety standards.
  • Perform salon services such as cutting, styling, coloring, providing wax treatments, and washing and perming hair (once licensed).
