About The Position

The Stuffer Operator is responsible for performing all work duties safely and maintaining the Tyson safety culture. This role involves receiving training as required and performing other duties or positions as assigned. The operator will be responsible for tasks such as reading the daily schedule, determining batch sequences, verifying casings and product, setting up equipment for appropriate weights, ensuring vacuum levels are met, and communicating with other operators to ensure product matches schedules. Additionally, the role includes preparing the stuffer, inspecting product, validating weights, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, setting up and tearing down equipment, completing production documents, and entering information into the Safety Chain/Plant View QA System. Cleaning and sanitizing plant equipment and reporting maintenance or quality issues are also key functions. The ability to operate equipment using a touch screen and handheld scanner is required.

Requirements

  • 6 months work history with the same employer
  • 6 months of machine operator experience
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Willing and able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate equipment using a touch screen and handheld scanner.

  • Safety Chain/Plant View, EIM and SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work duties safely and maintain the Tyson safety culture.
  • Receive training as required.
  • Perform other duties/positions as required/assigned.
  • Read the daily schedule and determine batch sequence.
  • Determine casings and clips needed for daily production.
  • Verify casings and product with process order.
  • Set-up COV for the appropriate weights.
  • Ensure vacuum levels are met at the marlin and casing horn.
  • Communicate with massager operator to ensure product being discharged from massagers matches stuffing schedule.
  • Communicate with AI operator to ensure stuffed product matches the cooking schedule.
  • Prepare the stuffer for use of materials indicated on the work order.
  • Inspect product for air during production.
  • Validate and verify weights by weighing stuffed logs on scales.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Set-up and teardown equipment.
  • Complete all required production documents and submit to supervisor.
  • Enter all required information into the Safety Chain/Plant View QA System.
  • Clean and sanitize, walls, ceilings, framework, and processing equipment throughout the plant, by foaming, scrubbing and rinsing.
  • Report any issues related to maintenance or quality of the product to supervisor.
