About The Position

The Stuffer Operator is responsible for performing all work duties safely, maintaining and promoting the Tyson safety culture, and receiving required training. This role involves performing other duties and positions as required or assigned. The operator will be trained to read the daily schedule, determine batch sequences, identify necessary casings and clips, verify casings and product with the process order, and set up COV for appropriate weights. They will ensure vacuum levels are met, communicate with massager and AI operators to match production schedules, and prepare the stuffer with materials indicated on the work order. Additionally, the operator will inspect product for air, validate weights, maintain a clean and safe work environment, set up and tear down equipment, complete production documents, and enter information into the Safety Chain/Plant View QA System. Cleaning and sanitizing plant equipment and surfaces is also a key responsibility. Reporting maintenance or quality issues to the supervisor is required. The ability to operate equipment using a touch screen and handheld scanner is necessary.

Requirements

  • 6 months work history with the same employer
  • 6 months of machine operator experience
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate equipment using a touch screen and handheld scanner.

  • Safety Chain/Plant View, EIM and SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work duties safely, as well as maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.

  • Verify casings and product with process order.
  • Set-up COV for the appropriate weights.
  • Ensure vacuum levels are met at the marlin and casing horn.
  • Communicate with massager operator to ensure product being discharged from massagers matches stuffing schedule.
  • Communicate with AI operator to ensure stuffed product matches the cooking schedule.
  • Prepare the stuffer for use of materials indicated on the work order.
  • Inspect product for air during production.
  • Validate and verify weights by weighing stuffed logs on scales.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Set-up and teardown equipment.
  • Complete all required production documents and submit to supervisor.
  • Enter all required information into the Safety Chain/Plant View QA System.
  • Clean and sanitize, walls, ceilings, framework, and processing equipment throughout the plant, by foaming, scrubbing and rinsing.
  • Report any issues related to maintenance or quality of the product to supervisor.
