Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Staff Scientist for the MOSAAIC cohort study in the Public Health Sciences Division (PHS). The MOSAAIC study aims to address the underrepresentation of people of Asian, Hawaiian, and other Pacific Islander backgrounds in NIH-funded prospective epidemiological studies. Fred Hutch is coordinating this national effort, which is a collaboration with the University of Washington and the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. The objective is to establish a population-based cohort focusing on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders to study health conditions and disease burden unique to this population. The study requires meaningful community outreach and engagement (COE) that is scientifically rigorous, linguistically accessible, and culturally resonant, supporting six languages: English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Korean. The MOSAAIC Staff Scientist for Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) will provide scientific support for all COE activities within the Coordinating Center (CC), ensuring outreach, recruitment, and participant communication efforts are grounded in cultural humility and community trust. This role offers the opportunity to work partially on campus and remotely.
