About The Position

The Studio Operations Lead is the day-to-day operator of Formosa Casting Studio, responsible for ensuring seamless execution across all studio services including casting sessions, self-tape, headshots, podcasts, and events. This role focuses primarily on operational excellence (70% operational execution, 30% client-facing coordination), enabling the Studio Director to focus on business development and strategic growth. Reports directly to the Studio Director.

Requirements

  • Experience managing casting studios, production crews, studio operations, or similar fast-paced facility environments
  • Hands-on technical familiarity with casting workflows, camera operations, and studio equipment
  • Proven ability to manage freelance and contract staff
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a bias toward execution
  • Comfort working within defined decision-making authority while proactively escalating when needed

  • Experience in a casting studio, production company, or similar entertainment environment
  • Familiarity with studio scheduling, utilization tracking, and operational reporting

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all daily studio operations across casting, self-tape, podcast, headshot, and events service lines
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve operational procedures and service standards; present to Studio Director for approval
  • Maintain and optimize studio scheduling and booking logistics to maximize utilization
  • Serve as the primary on-site presence ensuring sessions run on time and to standard
  • Manage facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and vendor relationships within approved budget parameters
  • Directly recruit, hire, schedule, and manage camera operators and freelance casting crew
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide day-to-day direction to all studio staff
  • Build and maintain a reliable freelance roster to ensure staffing continuity across service lines
  • Track and report studio utilization metrics, booking efficiency, and operational KPIs to the Studio Director
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and propose corrective initiatives for Director approval
  • Maintain accurate records of studio activity to support Director's business reviews with Talent Systems leadership
  • Manage approved vendor relationships and day-to-day procurement within defined budget guardrails
  • Source and onboard temp staff and freelancers within established hiring parameters
  • Escalate vendor or spend decisions exceeding authority thresholds to the Studio Director
  • Ensure every client interaction reflects FCS's premium service standards
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for clients during active sessions
