Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Music Production and Engineering (or related music tech program) and 1–2 years in a commercial recording facility.
  • Expertise in DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton), signal flow, Dante, and high-end consoles (Neve 88RS, SSL Duality, API, Avid S6/HDX).
  • Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, customer service mindset under pressure, and proficiency with Mac/Windows, Google Workspace, and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to work evening, weekend, and/or overnight shifts and lift up to 30 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Higher education experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering top-tier technical assistance and troubleshooting for classes, daytime recording ensembles, grant sessions, and visiting artist events across specialized audio hardware, software, Dante, and video systems.
  • Maintaining facility flow by inspecting equipment, monitoring schedules, managing gear check-outs, and maintaining detailed logs in FileMaker Pro.
  • Co-supervising a team of 50 student Studio Assistants, guiding them on day-to-day procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Executing semesterly software and hardware testing, equipment maintenance, and participating in technology upgrade projects.
  • Supporting specialized equipment requests, including percussion inventory, and leading new user orientation sessions.
