About The Position

Suburban Emergency Medical Services is seeking full-time students for its EMT program to join its EMS team serving Northampton and Monroe County. The organization provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport, paratransit services, and mutual aid coverage. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with stations in Northampton and Monroe counties. Day and night shift openings are available. The position pays $14 per hour. Requirements

Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Respond calmly, efficiently, and promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls.
Administer Basic Life Support in scene, en-route, and pre-hospital settings in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and company guidelines.
Assess the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses and prioritize medical procedures.
Protect patient privacy and patient information in accordance with applicable law and company policies.
Treat patients at the scene, en route to the hospital, and in pre-hospital settings according to applicable requirements and company policies.
Rescue and extricate victims of accidents, sudden illness, or entrapment using appropriate rescue and medical techniques.
Communicate with medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain treatment instructions or arrange patient reception at an appropriate center.
Maintain order at scenes in a professional manner to support patient care.
Complete patient care, insurance, evaluation, and other required forms competently and promptly.
Follow safety, contamination-control, and bloodborne-pathogen prevention policies and procedures.
Educate and train personnel, EMS trainees, and the public.
Respond promptly to dispatcher instructions.
Drive and operate specially equipped emergency vehicles safely to specified locations in accordance with applicable laws and company guidelines.
