About The Position

The Institute for Sustainable Practice is seeking a Student Worker to assist with various tasks related to sustainability research and program coordination. This role involves independent work, research, content creation, and logistical planning for student and graduate courses. The student will gain experience in using various software and collaborating with sustainability professionals.

Requirements

Current Lipscomb University student.
Skilled/confident in basic literature review tasks.
Skilled/confident in basic research.
Ability to work independently.
Task orientation.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Comfortable probing and interpreting written and graphic materials in basic science, engineering, business, psychology, and sociology.
Willing to learn and use basic software such as Google Sheets/Slides, word processing, Keynote, PowerPoint, and online/library research tools.
Willing to learn and publish content using Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, and other online course software.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, or other online course software.

Responsibilities

Learn and use basic software such as Google Sheets/Slides, word processing, Keynote, PowerPoint, and online/library research tools.
Identify peer-reviewed research and subject matter materials in sustainability (renewable energy, green business, Earth and building science, agriculture, psychology, sociology, and related applied and theoretical practices).
Willing to learn and publish content using Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, and other online course software.
Plan student and graduate course travel itineraries.
Investigate, document, and publish metrics of study sites.
Contact, secure, connect, and schedule the participation of top sustainability professionals to lead/teach/host out-of-state study sites annually.
