The Texas Collection and University Archives are looking for a student worker to assist with various projects related to archival collections, rare books, maps, or photographs. Under proper supervision, the student worker will be responsible for a range of tasks. The specific duties of this student worker may include inventorying, processing, and preserving archival and library collections and building finding aids. Working on special projects related to the manuscript, map, photo, and rare book collections. Monitoring researchers in the Guy B. Harrison, Jr. Reading Room and assisting patrons with scanning. Assisting with special projects and duties as assigned. Communicating with other Baylor Libraries student workers and participating in professional development activities like reading room desk training, Cuadra STAR, LOC, and DDS online training. The student worker must be able to work with limited supervision and be able to show initiative and good decision-making within the assigned area. Must be a critical thinker, detail oriented, an experienced user of Microsoft Word and Excel, and possess good research and writing skills. Must be able to lift boxes and other heavy materials. Perform business operations duties for assigned area of responsibility. Provide excellent customer service to clients. Ability to prioritize and take initiative. Assist with various projects, activities and tasks related to business operations. Ability to comply with University policies. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
