About The Position
This position is ideal for students interested in technical theatre, engineering, construction, or event production. You will get practical experience in a live theater setting. This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only.
Requirements
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn carpentry/ using hand tools like drills, hammers, saws, etc.
- Painting and Scenic Work: experience painting sets and/or crafting props
- Stage Crew Experience: basic knowledge of backstage work
- Lighting Basics: Familiarity with or willingness to learn hanging and adjusting lights
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a team on big projects
- Communication and Time Management of assigned tasks
- Physical Stamina
- Reliability and Independence
- Federal Work Study (FWS) student status
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up lighting, sound, and stage equipment for productions.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of technical gear.
- Working on screen / LED backdrop (QLab) technology.
- Collaborate with the technical director(s) to ensure smooth production.
- Help with stage design and construction of sets and props as needed.
- Help with organization and clean up of materials and theatre space.
- Support during live performances as needed to manage technical aspects.
