About The Position

The Facilities Services Assistant provides support to the Facilities Services Department in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position offers students valuable work experience while assisting with routine facility operations, event setups, campus inspections, and general maintenance support activities.

Requirements

Current enrollment at the college and eligibility for the Federal Work-Study Program.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Dependable, punctual, and professional work habits.
Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping, or customer service-related work.
Basic familiarity with hand tools and facility operations.

Responsibilities

Assist Facilities Services staff with daily campus operations and maintenance activities
Perform routine inspections of classrooms, offices, common areas, and campus grounds to identify maintenance needs.
Assist with furniture moving, room setups, and breakdowns for campus events and meetings.
Help maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
Deliver materials, equipment, and work-related documents to campus departments as needed.
Assist with basic groundskeeping tasks such as litter pickup and outdoor area upkeep.
Support preventative maintenance activities under staff supervision.
Report safety concerns, facility deficiencies, and maintenance issues to supervisors.
Maintain a professional and customer-service-oriented attitude when interacting with students, employees, and visitors.
Follow all college policies, safety procedures, and work-study program requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
