About The Position

The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national, and international levels. The ASUN Programmer will plan all Department events and initiatives, attend scheduled Department of Event Programming meetings, mentor and educate Event Programming Interns, serve as liaisons to other ASUN departments, and use data to guide planning of future programs. They will also be responsible for attending all ASUN retreats and trainings, and uploading relevant documents to NevadaBox within two weeks of an event.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Maintain a 2.00 GPA
  • Be enrolled in at least 7 credits
  • Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents
  • Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct
  • Meet all deadlines set forth
  • Attend all required meetings and training
  • Work scheduled hours
  • Properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time
  • Assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada
  • Behave in a manner that is ethical
  • Maintain a high level of integrity
  • Perform other duties as called upon by my position

  • Prior experience in planning, coordinating, or marketing events through course of study, previous work experience, or extracurriculars
  • Creativity to conceptualize, articulate, and execute event ideas appealing to a diverse student body

Responsibilities

  • Plan all Department events and initiatives
  • Attend scheduled Department of Event Programming meetings unless granted an excused absence
  • Mentor and educate Event Programming Intern(s)
  • Serve as liaisons to other ASUN departments and assist with Event Program inquiries
  • Use data provided by the Assistant Director to guide planning of future programs
  • Attend all ASUN retreats and trainings as decided by the Director of Programming and the Director of Executive Outreach
  • Upload all relevant documents to the NevadaBox within two weeks of the event

  • Compensation Grade Student Employee Level 1 $3,000 distributed evenly over a 12-month period in a single-term
