About The Position

The Student Welder interprets blueprints, job cards, bills of materials, and routing sheets, and handles complications involving variables that may differ across customized orders. The role requires working within precise limits and performing bench, MIG, and/or TIG welding on aluminum and steel. The position is intended for a student currently enrolled in technical school in a related field.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in technical school in a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Six months or more of related experience.
• Proficiency in MIG welding on steel and aluminum, demonstrated by an on-site weld skills test.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Demonstrated experience using various small and pneumatic hand tools.
• Ability to build or construct products.

Responsibilities

• Set up and assemble various components for welding.
• Set up welding machines.
• Weld aluminum components using bench, MIG, and TIG methods.
• Weld steel components using bench, MIG, and TIG methods.
• Grind welds.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
