About The Position

Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) is the largest veterinary-owned distributor in Canada, located in St. Marys, Ontario. Our primary purpose is to ensure that veterinarians have the supplies they need, when they need it, to provide healthcare to all types of animals. We are looking for new members to join our Operations team in the Student Warehouse Associate role. Be a part of the supply chain industry and join VP! Student Warehouse Associates are responsible for performing various warehouse duties associated with the proper picking, verifying, and packing of product orders; ensuring that clinics receive their product in good condition and in a timely manner. Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of fifteen (15) years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in high school
  • Strong written & verbal communication
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Pick and verify product orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Pack orders to ensure product is not damaged during transport and that all shipping labels are applied, as required.
  • Maintain warehouse to ensure that the proper amount of product is available and that shelves are neat and free of excess packaging material and debris.
  • Complete daily warehouse preparation jobs, as assigned.
  • Understand and follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and follows VP’s policies and procedures.
  • Conducts self with regard for the safety of all employees.
  • Participates in health and safety training, meetings, and drills as required; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures.
  • Reports any health & safety violations or hazards to appropriate contacts (JHSC Representatives, Supervisors, Managers).
  • Follows and understands all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to VP’s core values of service, care, respect, integrity, and community by incorporating these principles into daily work, decision-making, and interactions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
