About The Position

The Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a CSRD Student Associate, Graduate Student. This role will assist in coordinating events at the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy (CSRD). The CSRD contributes to the LBJ School's mission of preparing policy, government, and thought leaders with the knowledge, critical thinking, and intellectual tools to have impact in an increasingly diverse local, regional, national, and global political, social, economic, and cultural milieu. Requirements

  • Current graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strict attention to detail, independent, dependable, and proactive.
  • Strong grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize in order to manage a large workload on tight deadlines.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interest in social justice issues.
  • Working knowledge of UT Austin policies and procedures.
  • Experience with UT Austin accounting procedures and electronic accounting documents.
  • Event planning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and coordination of events and speaker series for the Center.
  • Assist with logistics and other administrative tasks for other programming offerings and opportunities at the Center.
