About The Position

This recruitment will be used to fill 10 part-time (maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Technical Assistant positions for the Department of Food Science and Technology at Oregon State University (OSU) in the OSU Creamery. Position duties to be determined by the hiring unit, but may include cleaning and sanitizing, preparation, packaging, operations and sales of products routine to Beaver Classic online marketplace. Packing orders, ensuring accuracy, presentable and packaged to withstand various shipping challenges. Shipping orders, driving them off-site to be shipped, finalizing boxes to be shipped and understanding the intake of orders. Keeping inventory to ensure available sales. Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and workspaces. OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees. Requirements

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
Ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
Ability to shift one’s approach when working with a variety of organizations and people from diverse cultures, communication styles, histories and team structures
Able to prioritize and complete assigned tasks and responsibilities in a timely manner
Passion and interest in food or foodservice
The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral English
The incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq.
Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
