About The Position

Students work with Kinesiology Department Faculty to prepare for labs. Students also assist Faculty and students during lab sessions. This position requires assisting with undergraduate biomechanics labs, including set-up, teaching, and clean-up. It also involves leading study sessions with undergraduate biomechanics students as needed, maintaining all biomechanics labs and equipment, regularly checking instruments/equipment, taking care of towels, keeping equipment and materials in proper places, setting up lab equipment prior to the start of class as needed, keeping labs clean and tidy, and correcting lab manuals/classroom work. Assistance during field trips may also be required.

Requirements

  • Must have successfully completed Biomechanics
  • Knowledge of each lab procedure as well as calibration and troubleshoot all equipment (Qualisys, EMG, EEG, Force plate, Vertec and Jump Mat, etc.)
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of people in a friendly, professional manner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Detail-oriented, work independently and confidentially
  • Good attendance is required
  • Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional Kinesiology coursework is preferred.
