About The Position
CGRC’s Elementary Education Services (EES) program is a licensed private special education school serving children in grades K–8 in Delaware County who are struggling in public-school classrooms. The program provides a structured academic environment and academic curriculum, with a strong emphasis on students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development. Its goal is to help each child develop the skills needed to return successfully to their public school district. The Student Teacher supports classroom instruction and student development as part of the classroom and special education teams. The setting incorporates group therapy, individual counseling, and on-site psychiatric services to provide students with a safe and supportive environment. CGRC describes its internship program as offering clinical experiences, comprehensive supervision and training, opportunities to develop leadership competencies and career interests, and flexibility for classes and internship possibilities. The organization encourages a healthy work-school-life balance, self-care, and career development.
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher.
- Collaborate with the special education team.
- Support classroom management.
- Provide individualized instruction and instructional support.
- Assist with assessment, grading, and progress monitoring.
- Provide behavioral support and crisis intervention.
- Implement IEPs.
- Participate in professional development.
