About The Position
San Juan Unified School District is seeking Student Teachers and Resident Teachers affiliated with the district to work as substitute teachers during the school year. Flexible schedules and work days are available. The salary is $200–$250 for a full day and $100–$125 for a half day, according to the salary schedule. Candidates must complete the student-teaching section of the application and include their mentor teacher; applications missing this information will not be screened.
Requirements
- This posting is exclusively for Student Teachers and Resident Teachers with San Juan Unified School District.
- Hold a teaching credential based on a degree and student teaching, or be eligible to apply for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
- To qualify for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, possess a bachelor's degree or higher and attach unofficial transcripts showing the conferral date.
- New guest teachers must attend an orientation/paperwork processing event.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Obtain a clear TB test.
- Pass the AB2534 reference check.
- Submit a complete, signed application with all required documents attached.
Responsibilities
- Work as a substitute teacher during the school year.
- Complete the student-teaching section of the application and identify the mentor teacher.
