About The Position

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Student, Support Analyst to join our dynamic IT Technology Delivery team in Ottawa. The IT Technology Delivery team delivers technology solutions and services that strengthen organizational agility and enable Canadian Blood Services to respond effectively to evolving business needs. In this role, you will support key IT deliverables for the Canadian Blood Services Network and Collections Transformation initiatives. You will assist with the configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of technology solutions that enable plasma and whole blood collection operations. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of Technology Delivery projects and programs, gaining hands-on experience with different systems, tools, and stakeholders across the organization. This is a hands-on, team-oriented role suited for someone who enjoys learning in a fast-paced environment, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing reliable support to frontline operations through effective and efficient technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a post-secondary program in a relevant discipline such as computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environments, including OS installation, imaging, and configuration, as well as Microsoft 365 applications such as SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and end-user support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members, stakeholders, and end users in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or coursework related to IT support, device configuration, or deployment is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with a variety of hardware platforms, including laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile devices, is an asset.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, and cellular connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and test IT devices to support project and operational requirements.
  • Author and update project documentation as required.
  • Provide exceptional support to users in person, via phone, and through email.
  • Provide on-site assistance for equipment installations and project go-lives.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues efficiently using troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis skills.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and project members, to contribute to ongoing and new technology initiatives.
  • Travel to Canadian Blood Services sites across Canada to support equipment deployment, testing, and implementation.
  • Contribute to additional project activities and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
