About The Position
Join our Calgary Campus as a Student Support Leader! You’ll play a key role in providing academic and behavioral support to students in grades 3-12 with diverse and high-level needs. The Student Support Lead will work closely with teachers, parents and other support staff to ensure that all students have the resources and tools necessary to succeed. Supporting students both virtually and in-person. May be required to develop and or teach individualized curriculum for higher needs students.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Education
- Alberta Inclusive Education Teaching Certificate
Responsibilities
- provide one-to-one and in-class support to students
- assist teachers in modifying and adapting instructional materials and techniques to meet the needs of individual students
- collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for students
- maintain accurate and up to date records of all student documentation, including IEPs, progress reports, behavioural plans and supporting data
- meet with parents on a quarterly basis to discuss student progress and develop strategies for continued growth and success
- provide coaching and professional development to teachers to enhance their ability to support students with diverse needs
