About The Position

The Success Navigator plays a central role in supporting student success by serving as a primary point of contact for prospective, new, and continuing students. This position guides students through the full student lifecycle, including admissions, onboarding, enrollment, and advising, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience from initial application through completion. Through proactive advising and ongoing engagement, the Success Navigator assists students in selecting appropriate academic and career pathways, understanding college processes, and connecting with campus and community resources. This role emphasizes relationship-building and consistent communication to help students navigate challenges, build confidence, and remain on track toward achieving their academic, career, and personal goals. Success Navigators work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and campus partners to identify and remove barriers to student success, promote persistence and completion, and deliver a high-quality, student-centered experience aligned with the College’s open-door mission. This position operates within the Student Onboarding and Success area and partners closely with academic programs, recruitment and outreach teams, and student support services to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to student support. The role requires regular interaction with students, faculty, and staff, and may include participation in evening or special events as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with relevant advising, student services, or customer-facing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze student needs and provide appropriate referrals and solutions.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and community partners
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations
  • Proficiency with technology, including student information systems, and standard office software.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and work both independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Student Development, or a related field.
  • One or more years of experience in academic advising, counseling, or student success roles.
  • Experience in a community college or higher education setting, with working knowledge of programs, policies, and enrollment processes.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems and CRM platforms
  • Bilingual proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students from application through enrollment and ongoing academic progression.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, fostering a sense of belonging, empowerment, and self-advocacy to support persistence and completion.
  • Cultivate a sense of belonging, empowerment and self-advocacy for students; build relationships with students, faculty, and staff to facilitate increased retention and student success.
  • Provide proactive, holistic advising that includes course selection, registration guidance, transfer and limited enrollment support, and academic and career pathway planning.
  • Assist students in aligning academic plans with career goals, including administering career assessments and exploration tools for undecided students.
  • Monitor student progress through grade reviews, early alerts, and case management systems; conduct proactive outreach to at-risk students and connect them with appropriate resources.
  • Meet with students experiencing academic difficulty, including those on academic probation or returning from suspension, to develop strategies for improvement and continued success.
  • Connect students to appropriate campus and community resources, including tutoring, counseling, financial aid, accessibility services, and basic needs support through programs such as REACH.
  • Provide assistance with services in the REACH program for basic needs to assist students in addressing barriers to academic success.
  • Participate in Mental Health First Aid training and provide assistance to the MHFA Response Team on campus.
  • Assist with response to Care Team Reports as needed, providing appropriate referrals and follow-up procedures with students.
  • Provide proactive guidance through the admissions and enrollment process including limited enrollment and transfer processes, assisting students with completing applications, meeting admissions requirements, and registering for their first semester.
  • Support and participate in onboarding experiences such as orientations, welcome events, campus tours, and information sessions to promote student engagement and readiness.
  • Maintain consistent communication with prospective students to ensure completion of enrollment steps.
  • Collaborate with faculty, advisors, student services, outreach, and recruitment staff to support holistic student success.
  • Support recruitment and community outreach activities to promote educational opportunities at RCC.
  • Encourage student involvement in campus resources, co-curricular opportunities, and career development activities to enhance the overall student experience.
  • Conduct workshops, presentations, and information sessions for students and community members.
  • Maintain accurate and timely advising records, documenting student interactions and interventions using institutional systems.
  • Monitor and utilize student data to inform outreach, track progress, and support student success initiatives.
  • Assist with reporting and data tracking related to enrollment, onboarding, and student success outcomes.

  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with all faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Serve on institutional committees as appointed by the President.
  • Annually review all Randolph Community College safety rules and policies and be familiar with all emergency safety procedures.
  • Promote good safety habits and be compliant with all applicable safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
