About The Position

Community College of Philadelphia is seeking a Student Success Navigator to provide recruitment and participant support for its Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programs, including the Learn and Earn Apprenticeship Pathway and Child Development Associate courses. This role supports students from initial interest through program completion, employment, and further education. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, flexible, positive, and a team player with experience supporting student success.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Education, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Liberal Arts, or related field required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in higher education administration, Apprenticeship or other workforce training programs, or other educational environment required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
  • Knowledge of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) standards of best practice required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Ability to collaborate well with internal and external constituents and stakeholders including students, funders, College administrators, faculty, and support staff required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility required.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn, grow and develop the apprenticeship program at CCP for the Early Childhood Education workforce required.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours required.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Any and all degrees must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.
  • Prior experience working with internal and external partners in the development and implementation of training programs preferred.
  • Prior experience managing, tracking, and reporting on data preferred.
  • Proficiency utilizing Destiny One or Banner and/or alternative cloud-based data tracking systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and all registration and application processes of new Apprentices for the ECE Apprenticeship and candidates for Child Development Associate Program.
  • Serve as primary point of contact to support students in navigating all onboarding procedures, including assessment tests, funding requirements such as PHMC Eligibility Processes and TEACH Scholarship applications for all students in apprenticeship cohorts and CDA course.
  • Act as primary point of contact for external partners that are essential to ensuring student success (i.e., PHMC and FirstUp).
  • In collaboration with Success Coach, ECE Apprenticeship, assist with workshops on financial literacy, tuition, TEACH forms, etc. to all students in Apprenticeship cohorts.
  • Build relationships with and advocate for students, helping them successfully navigate the College systems, connecting to resources, and identifying or providing supports as needed.
  • In collaboration with Success Coach and Director, Apprenticeships & School-to-Work Programs, oversee necessary data collection— prepare written reports on pertinent data for internal and external partners when required.
  • In collaboration with Success Coach, maintain FERPA documents of all apprentices and documentation of student progress.
  • Maintain strictest standards of conduct and confidentiality regarding student records in compliance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended), Veterans Administration, Title IV, PA Act 48, 114 and 335.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with program partners and represent CCP at apprenticeship board meetings if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
